EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Even after issuing several pleas for adoptions last week, the Effingham County Animal Shelter said they remain completely full as of Monday morning around 10 a.m.

Shelter staff told WCIA that as of Monday, their facilities are still crowded with dogs. They have even squeezed in two more puppies as well as a medical case. No adoptions have been made.

In their initial social media post announcing the lack of open kennels, the shelter said all their dogs have up-to-date vaccinations, are heartworm tested, microchipped, neutered, and spayed. They also have flea, tick, and heartworm preventions.

Each dog’s adoption fee is $130. For more information and to view available pets, click here.
