During the four-day conference, ASA conference members will discuss topics regarding “space tourism and workforce development.” In addition to this, conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans and the NASA Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, according to officials from Nungesser’s office.
In his fifth year hosting the conference, Nungesser expressed how the state of Louisiana is important in the aerospace industry.

“Louisiana is a key player in the aerospace industry with the NASA facility at Michoud,” Nungesser said. “We want to highlight support for programs at our vo-tech schools. By growing our vo-tech program, we can attract talent to the aerospace industry. I’m honored to serve as chair and host the members of ASA in New Orleans where we can showcase our aerospace facility as interest in space exploration grows. We will also share our food, culture, and history with the ASA members. I hope this visit inspires them to make additional trips back to explore all we have to offer.”
