The commission did not detail the nature of the violation in the meeting, discussing it during an executive session.
In response to questions from News 19, Bowling released a statement saying the complaint stemmed from him using a recreation facility when it was closed to the public.
“I used a public facility that was closed to the public,” Bowling said. “It was a recreation center. I’m comfortable with the Commission’s decision.”
News 19 has reached out to the ethics commission for more details about the ethics complaint but has not received any additional information at this time.
According to the commission, the case has been forwarded to the Morgan County District Attorney for review.
