ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller recently delivered his ‘State of the City’ address, calling it ‘A Future Worth Fighting For.’ What does he mean by that, exactly?
This week on the podcast, Mayor Keller joins Gabby and Chris for an in-depth discussion about crime, homelessness, the economy, and more. Keller says the metro’s biggest problem is Fentanyl.
Mayor Keller said people have asked him, “What’s the number one thing you would change if you had a magic wand?” Keller said, “The answer is simple it’s Fentanyl. Whether it’s America, or it’s Albuquerque, Fentanyl is destroying our cities. And it is the intersection between a number of other dangerous trends.”
Mayor Keller also admits the city’s housing voucher program isn’t working and needs an overhaul. He said the City of Albuquerque clears roughly 200 encampments a month.
