Albuquerque pizzeria honors late owner on the anniversary of his death

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A southeast Albuquerque pizzeria is honoring its late owner on the two-year anniversary of his killing. Giovanni’s Pizzeria on San Pedro gave out complimentary food to Albuquerque police detectives and members of Albuquerque Fire Rescue to honor Rosario Zito.

UNM welcomes new Health Sciences Center executive leader

Zito was killed two years ago during an attempted robbery at his store. The store said Zito loved to create an atmosphere where first responders could eat together.

The suspect in Zito’s murder, Sylvan Alcachupas, is scheduled to go to trial in October.
