Alleged ‘serial fast food burglar’ arrested in Covington

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — A man has been arrested following a multi-agency investigation into his alleged involvement with a string of fast food restaurant burglaries in Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi.
According to the Covington Police Department, the man, 36-year-old Sanchaz Harold, of Roseland, is being charged with simple burglary and criminal damage, both of which are felonies. These are in relation to a June 25 burglary that happened at a Covington-area fast food restaurant.

After “extensive” review of video surveillance footage and due to the assistance provided by interagency cooperation, investigators were able to identify Harold’s alleged connection to the larger burglary spree.
The investigation, which led to Harold’s arrest, spanned over 12 jurisdictions and included the involvement of the following law enforcement agencies:

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office
The Franklinton Police Department
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office
The Livingston Police Department
The Hammond Police Department
The Denham Springs Police Department
The Ponchatoula Police Department
The Walker Police Department
The Columbia Police Department in Mississippi
The McComb Police Department in Mississippi

Harold was arrested on July 3 by the TPSO on related charges.
