Amanda Seales Claims She Told Kamala Harris Her Messaging Was “Disingenuous”
Amanda Seales has something to say about Kamala Harris’ presidential bid, recently claiming that she once aired her grievances with the VP to her face.
On Saturday (July 27), a video of Seales talking about the Democratic presidential hopeful went viral. The comedian began by voicing her frustrations with politicians “stating things” instead of taking action to make change.
Seales then honed in on VP Harris, recalling an alleged conversation she previously had with her. The actress and commentator claimed that she told Harris her messaging was “disingenuous.”
“I don’t need politicians to state things,” she began. “I need politicians to do things. When I met with Kamala Harris after she summoned me, I told her straight up, ‘You talk out two sides of your neck, and we don’t know what you’re talking about.’ I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Kamala Harris who is trying to shut me the f**k up…I feel like she is disingenuous in her messaging. She said to me, ‘Well, you’re being too critical.’ And I said, ‘I am a voter—I’m supposed to be critical. And I want to see action.'”
“She said ‘How am I supposed to talk about racism in America without calling Americans racist?’ I said, ‘First of all, there are many racist Americans, but there are also policies, legislation, institutions, and systems that need to be addressed. And if you’re not going to do that […] in a loud, bold way, people will never really know where you’re coming from.'” [She said], ‘Well, you can’t tell me how I feel.’ I said, ‘Well, I’m not telling you how to feel—I’m telling you how you sound!'”
Seales then ended her video by giving Americans some advice. She stated that people should always “question their source” and “intention.”
Amanda Seales recently went viral for questioning the assassination attempt on former President Donald J. Trump’s life. Seales initially believed the incident was “staged” and questioned the timing of the shooting in relation to President Joe Biden’s less-than-stellar campaign and debate performances.
“More staged than a Tyler Perry production of Madea Runs for President,” she said in a clip. “I lived in Harlem long enough to know that gunshots don’t sound like making popcorn on a stove. Where did the blood come from? So in theater, in movies, they have something called blood pellets…you crush it, and blood comes out. To be frank, small hands Trump would not respond by raising his fist in the air triumphantly. This was, I believe, done to try to show his strength counter to Biden’s fragility.”
