Anne-Marie’s dress almost ruined her entire Glastonbury experience

The singer told how her outfit was so reflective, it caused chaos with the feedback for her sound team.

Anne-Marie has admitted her silver Glastonbury outfit was so shiny that the reflections from it caused sound issues during her set.

The Don't Play singer wowed fans with a voluminous silver dress during her performance at the festival in June, but has told how it caused unexpected problems.

Anne-Marie was joined on This Morning by Clean Bandit singer Grace Chatto, where they spoke about their latest collaboration Cry Baby.

Singer Anne-Marie picked an eye-catching outfit for her Glastonbury performance - but it turns out that it was sun-catching, too, as she has admitted her silver dress was so reflective that it caused sound issues.

The Unhealthy singer wore a voluminous silver dress with puffball sleeves, a large bow and matching knee-high boots for her set at the festival in June and has told This Morning it caused an unexpected problem.

Host Rylan Clark asked her: "Your very first TV appearance was on my show Up Late with Rylan years ago. Seeing you now at Glastonbury owning it and just commanding that stage, what does it feel like now for that girl that was like I'd love to do that one day, and now you're up on that stage?"

She replied: "It was brilliant I loved it. I never would have believed it if I look back I never would have known I would be able to do that. Just so many reasons why but honestly, I loved that show so much.

"The only problem was I wore that silver outfit, silver, silver, silver. I come off stage, my sound guy went, umm, your outfit was reflecting the sun so much it was messing with the radio input."

Clark asked: "What was it made out of? Foil?"

"Well, yeah," Anne-Marie told him. "They were like, we didn't even know if your voice was coming out of the microphone. But luckily it was."

Clean Bandit singer Grace Chatto, appearing on This Morning with Anne-Marie, reassured her: "When you sang Cry Baby your voice sounded incredible."

Talking about her latest collaboration with Chatto on Cry Baby, Anne-Marie said: "I like writing stories about ex-boyfriends, they're mostly angry. You know when you want someone to want you so bad when you're together and then they don't give you enough and then you leave and then they come back and it's too late? That's what this song is about, it's so satisfying."

Although Anne-Marie's sound issues might have gone under the radar, viewers noticed plenty of other problems at Glastonbury this year.

There were lots of complaints about the sound during Shania Twain's Sunday headliner set, with viewers saying it sounded terrible on TV coverage.

Meanwhile, artists including Dua Lipa and Coldplay were accused of miming during their performances, but some sound experts claimed that the issue could be caused by needing to use backing tracks rather than having every musician used on a song appearing on stage at once.

This Morning airs on ITV1 at 10am on weekdays.
