Will there be another presidential debate? Here's what Harris and Trump have said
Ahead of Tuesday's vice presidential debate, some are wondering if this will be the last big political face-off of the 2024 election.
After the last presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, Harris was widely declared the winner and pressed Trump for another go.
Trump has said there will not be a second debate, despite repeated taunting from the Democrats. Even some Republicans like Sen. Lindsey Graham R-S.C. have said they would like to see Trump agree to a second debate as they try to shift the focus off of personal attacks and onto Harris' policy positions.
Here is what to know about the chances of another presidential debate:

Harris has agreed to another debate with CNN, Trump has declined
In the immediate aftermath of the Sept. 10 presidential debate, Harris' campaign put out a statement saying, "Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?”
In a rebuttal days later, Trump said on Truth Social he would not participate in his third debate.
Since then, the Democrats put up billboards in Indiana and Pennsylvania calling Trump "a chicken," for not participating in another debate.
Harris also accepted an invitation from CNN for a debate on Oct. 23, but Trump declined again, saying at a rally, "It's just too late - voting has already started." Debates typically happen throughout October. His debate against President Joe Biden in June was a historical anomaly.
Harris doubled down on her baiting for a second debate at a campaign event Sunday.
"I know we will cheer on Coach Walz when he debates JD Vance," she said at a Las Vegas, Nevada rally. "But listen, also their debate should not be the last word. I'm trying to debate Donald Trump again."
From what the Trump campaign told USA TODAY, she'll just have to keep hoping.
"As President Trump has said, only losers request a rematch. Kamala Harris lost the debate, and she knows it,” said Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign's national press secretary.
