'Jeff Session' captures hearts after Trump misspelled his own attorney general's name
Early Wednesday morning, President Trump tweeted something sensible, rational, and good for America. Jk.
Responding to recent developments in Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump campaign's association with Russia, the president's Twitter account has seemed more unhinged than usual. This morning he fired off a tweet asking why Obama and the Democrats weren't also under investigation. Then he misspelled his attorney general's name, saying, "Ask Jeff Session!"

An hour later, Trump corrected the name, but it was too late.
"Jeff Session" had already captured the internet's attention, and people demanded to know what this new figure in the Trump drama knew... and why isn't he talking???
By the time Trump's revised tweet hit the web's tubes, "Jeff Session" was already trending on Twitter.

Some poor guy named Jeff Session, who probably owns a hardware store in Oregon, is about to be flooded with calls from the nation's assignment editors.

Yes, this is a funny bit. But it also takes away from the bigger problem with Trump's tweet: a person in power asking his Justice Department to investigate political rivals seemingly without cause or justification. It's despotic.
Also, it has been only a week since a gunman armed with a legally-obtained assault rifle killed 17 kids in a Florida high school. Trump's response to it has ranged from lackluster to downright insulting.
Yet he continues to be obsessed with an investigation that shines a deeply unflattering light on his campaign, but not obsessed enough, apparently, to know how to spell his closest colleague's name.
