I'm a Celebrity hosts Ant & Dec made a Jack Maynard joke nobody was expecting during last night's (December 10) final, but admittedly it did make us snigger.

YouTuber Jack left the ITV show after just three days, but remained in the show's credits, with Ant & Dec briefly confirming that his exit was due to "circumstances outside camp".

His departure from the series wasn't ever mentioned again... until it became a punchline in yesterday's episode.

Dec began by admitting he had been gutted by Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine's exit, saying: "Well done to those three [Georgia Toffolo, Jamie Lomas and Iain Lee]. They made the final.

"Jennie just missed out, so spare a thought for me, because I had Jennie in the sweepstake."

Dec then asked who Ant had picked, to which Ant quipped: "Jack Maynard."

The production crew were heard gasping and laughing, before Dec replied: "Unlucky!"

Following Jack's exit, an ITV spokeswoman had told Digital Spy: "Due to circumstances outside camp, Jack has had to withdraw from the show."

It came after a number of offensive tweets from years ago on the vlogger's Twitter account resurfaced last month.

A representative for Jack confirmed to DS that his exit from the series was related to the YouTube star's comments, suggesting that the decision was mutual.

They said: "In the last few days, Jack Maynard has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world – he has been unable to respond to.

"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show."

Jack went on to apologise for his comments, and recently appeared on Lorraine to say he was "young, stupid [and] inconsiderate" when he posted the tweets.

Meanwhile, Made in Chelsea's Toff was named Queen of the Jungle on last night's show, followed by Hollyoaks star Jamie as runner-up.
