Arrest made following deputy-involved shooting, chase in Metairie: JPSO
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — An arrest was made following a deputy-involved shooting and pursuit in Metairie on Monday, July 29.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies tried to pull over a vehicle reported as stolen in a parking lot in the 4500 block of Veterans Boulevard around 3 p.m.

JPSO officials said the vehicle and its driver “were the focus of an ongoing criminal investigation.”
Investigators said a deputy reportedly fired his weapon at the driver while removing a passenger from the vehicle, and no one was struck by the gunfire.
The driver then allegedly drove away and led deputies on a chase.

JPSO officials said the chase ended at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard and 26th Street, where the driver crashed into another vehicle and allegedly ran from the scene.
The driver was then taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional information has not been released.
