Arrest made in Uptown New Orleans double shooting that left teen dead

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that left a teenage boy dead and a man wounded in Uptown New Orleans.
On July 29, the New Orleans Police Department reported that officers responded to the 2100 block of Soniat Street around 5:28 p.m. On the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man who had been shot.

They were taken to a hospital, where the 15-year-old later died. The Orleans Parish coroner later identified the 15-year-old as Tyvien Jirouard.
Following an investigation, NOPD detectives said they identified 24-year-old Yuan Buggage as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
According to the NOPD, “Buggage was found to be incarcerated in the Orleans Parish Justice Center on previous charges and was subsequently re-booked on the additional charges.”

The NOPD did not release additional information.
