Ahh, Instagram is such a joy for beauty. No sooner has a make-up artist slicked a line of kohl across a model’s eye that we know the exact look of the show via social media. From the lipstick used at Burberry to the eyeshadow donned at Prada, you can feel like you’re backstage with a click of an app. Boy do we love 21st century technology.

Here is your list of our favourite make-up artists to follow throughout  London Fashion Week....

Charlotte Tilbury on @ctilburymakeup

While she might the make-up artist of choice for many A-listers', this season you'll find Charlotte Tilbury backstage at Versus and Temperley London. Tilbury is a fan of how-to Insta videos, so no doubt she'll share her tips and tricks for re-creating the looks at-home.

Lynsey Alexander on @lynseyalexander

There are many strings to Lynsey Alexander's bow. She's Estee Lauder's UK make-up ambassador, she's creates incredible looks for both the catwalk and for ad campaigns, and she still manages to squeeze in plenty of horse-riding. She's worth following to get a real insight into life as a make-up artist, and most importantly, how to make it work for you.

Diane Kendal on @diane.kendal

Diane Kendal has one of the most impressive portfolios and yet she has a relatively small profile compared to other make-up artists. She's famous for creating that 'real' looking skin and using product sparingly. Expect to see Kendal's work across New York, London, Milan and Paris.

Wendy Rowe on @wendyrowe

The lead make-up artist for Burberry, Wendy Rowe paints the faces of all the coolest cats on the block including Cara and Suki. Follow her for close-up of iconic Burberry make-up looks, product shots and inspiration pics - they all make for a very beautiful Instagram feed.

Tom Pecheux on @tompecheux

When he's not making up the likes of Mariah Carey (yes, really) for magazine covers, the leading make-up artist Tom Pecheux is creating beautiful make-up looks backstage. Right-hand man to Carine Roitfeld, Pecheux is the creative beauty mind for many leading shows and shoots.

Lucia Pica on @picalucia

As Chanel's global creative make-up and colour designer, Pica has a bold and beautiful Instagram account. As well as backstage snaps of models, expect some lust-worthy collections of Chanel products (yes, please) as well as interesting make-up tips and tricks.

Lisa-Potter Dixon on @lisa_benefit

Potter-Dixon's Instagram feed is bright, colourful and a make-up junkie's dream. The head make-up and trend artist for Benefit Cosmetics, Potter-Dixon perfects bright eyes, glowy skin and show-stopping brows.

Val Garland on @thevalgarland

Val's Instagram feed is the real deal: from inspiring make-up shoots and backstage videos, she's got it all covered. Follow Val for posts that will keep you glued for hours, and for her favourite make-up products marked with her famous hashtag #VALidate.
