Attica inmate sentenced for attempted rape while incarcerated

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An inmate at Attica Correctional Facility was sentenced to an additional 15 years in prison for attempting to rape an employee at the facility, the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Emmanuel Jenkins, 38, was sentenced after he was convicted of first-degree attempted rape, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon in June.

Jenkins was already serving a sentence of 15 years to life in prison for three counts of predatory sexual assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated sexual abuse and three counts of third-degree rape.

The new 15-year sentence will be served consecutively to his current sentence, officials said. He will also be subject to 25 years of post-release supervision.
