Aurora BayCare utilizes Blackhawk Helicopter to help with ‘mock’ training for evacuations
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Aurora BayCare and the National Guard teamed up on Friday afternoon in an effort to provide education to the future medical leaders of America.
The medical students in attendance got the opportunity to work through a ‘mock’ situation for a medical evacuation. The students got to learn about using resources outside of a hospital for an emergency.

“When they’re in the hospitals and clinics, they have unlimited resources to take care of patients,” Aurora BayCare Director of Medical Education Mike Medich said. “When they’re in the wilderness or on the way home, they have limited resources, so we’re teaching them to become resourceful with equipment they have on hand.”
The hospital also provides equipment to the National Guard so that they can also learn how to take care of those who are injured and in need of medical attention.
