Authorities identify woman who died on Auburndale road Sunday after reported disturbance
AUBURNDALE ? The Wood County Sheriff's Office had identified a 40-year-old woman who died on a road in the town of Auburndale following a report of a disturbance Sunday morning.
Nicole Sandoval was found on East McMillan Street, between Rock Inn Road and Day Road, after deputies responded at 7:52 a.m. Sunday to a report of a disturbance. Emergency medical personnel performed lifesaving measures on Sandoval, but she died from her injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Officers arrested a 22-year-old Marshfield man on a suspected probation violation and suspected drunken driving, according to the Sheriff's Office. Officers are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of Sandoval's death, but they anticipate they will request additional charges be filed against the Marshfield man.
Investigators say information they've received indicates the incident started as a domestic disturbance between Sandoval and the Marshfield man, according to the Sheriff's Office. They are investigating her death as a homicide.
The Marshfield News-Herald is not releasing the name of the man arrested until he is officially charged.
