Indianapolis couple missing in Nevada desert have been found, police say. Details scarce
Update: On Tuesday, April 5, the Nye County Sheriff's Office said Ronnie and Beverly Barker have been found. The sheriff's office did not provide the couple's conditions.
Authorities are searching for an Indianapolis couple who went missing between Las Vegas and Reno in the Nevada desert while on an RV trip.
Ronnie Barker, 72, and Beverly Barker, 69, have been missing since March 27. The couple was taking a road trip from Albany, Oregon, to Tucson, Arizona, when they went missing.
Their cellphones may have pinged last near Dyer, Nevada, which is in Esmeralda County, according to officials.
“We are actively searching,” said Esmeralda County Sheriff Kenneth Elgan. “The county north of us has a helicopter up flying today. The county south of us has search and rescue teams out in some of their rural areas. We had a helicopter fly Saturday that pretty much covered the majority of our county.”

The couple was driving a 2015 Forest River Sunseeker RV with an Indiana license plate. They were towing a 2020 Kia Soul also with an Indiana license plate.
"It's high desert, and it's spread out all over the place,” Elgan said when asked about the difficulties of searching for the couple. “We have 3,500 square miles and a population of just 1,000 people in Esmeralda County. There's a lot of wide-open spaces and a lot of area to cover.”
