Award-winning Louisiana artist designs 2024 ‘I Voted’ sticker
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Shreveport artist has designed the new “I Voted” sticker for this year’s election.
Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry will show the commissioned design at 9 a.m. Monday, July 8 at the Old Governor’s Mansion. William Joyce, the artist and Academy Award winner, will be at the unveiling.
“I am honored to be asked to do the art for this year’s ‘I Voted’ Election Day badge,” Joyce said in a news release. “While making it, I thought about how it feels to vote. For me, it feels fantastic. Like I matter. Like I make a difference. Regardless of political party, democracy is a song everyone loves, so let’s vote and go to the freedom dance!”
“To have such a talented and renowned Louisiana artist like William Joyce designing our 2024 ‘I Voted’ sticker is a great honor,” Landry said in a news release. “I know all Louisiana voters will enjoy receiving this beautiful sticker after making their voices heard in the upcoming election.”
The ceremony is open to the public, according to the secretary of state’s office.
