Bail set for mother and boyfriend in Elijah Vue case as charges increase
MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) — The mother and boyfriend of Elijah Vue, whose human remains were discovered in a wooded area, appeared in court on Friday, where their bails were significantly increased.
A Manitowoc County judge set a cash bail for 39-year-old Jesse Vang at $500,000. Vang now faces additional charges, including physical abuse of a child causing death, hiding a corpse, and obstructing an officer.

Elijah Vue’s mother, 31-year-old Katrina Baur, also faces new charges, including chronic neglect of a child (consequence is death), child neglect, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer. Baur’s bail has been set at $400,000.
Both Baur and Vang are scheduled to return to court on Monday, October 21, 2024.
