The Barrel-Rolling Texas Cop Has Resigned, Thank God
By now we've all seen the video. On Friday, June 5, (former) Police Cpl. Eric Casebolt pulled his gun on a group of black teenagers at a pool party in McKinney, Texas. Captured by a bystander, the video shows 11 officers calmly arriving at the scene, then Casebolt, who comes sprinting down the sidewalk and introduces himself with a fucking barrel roll. Yes, a barrel roll. The video, as a whole, is yet another sickening chapter of our national police crisis, but those first fleeting moments look like an outtake from Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Police Academy. Better yet, Reno 911!. Casebolt, who was under investigation, resigned Tuesday afternoon. Thank God.
