Baton Rouge cat shelter gets $10K grant from Petco nonprofit
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A local shelter will get a $10,000 grant from Petco Love to help the staff continue to save animals in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
President of Petco Love Susanne Kogut said Cat Haven, a local no-kill shelter, is part of more than $15 million in investments to support organizations across the country and help create a world where no pet is euthanized.
Cat Haven Executive Director Holly Carey said the investment will be used for medical care and routine spay/neuters.
The shelter recently took in 35 starving cats and kittens from terrible living conditions in Rayne, La. Rescuers told BRProud that some of the kittens locked in kennels had no access to food or water. The animals also had infections in their eyes.
