Baton Rouge financial group hosts pickleball tournament to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A pickleball tournament benefitting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital took place in Baton Rouge on Thursday, July 25.

Serve for St. Jude, A Pickleball Tournament, hosted by Assurance Financial, was held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Stacks Pickleball Celtic Studio, 10000 Celtic Drive.

The tournament’s goal was to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Assurance Financial says its goal was to not only provide for the community but also give back to families in need.

“Everybody knows someone affected by cancer and then not to mention you have children, so you know why not, why not be a part of this? Why not raise money and give back to, to such a great cause?,” said Sara Dickson, loan officer at Assurance Financial.

“We had a great turnout, exceeded our expectations in year one, so we’re going to continue to grow and build this tournament into, you know something hopefully very big,” said Phelps McKey, mortgage loan officer at Assurance Financial.
