Baton Rouge Police say man hurt in shooting after fight near event venue

BPRD learned that one person was struck in the hip and went to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. BRPD met the wounded person at the hospital.

During the investigation, BRPD spoke with multiple witnesses.

They learned that a fight took place between a group of women near KOK Wings and Red Stick Social.

When the fight ended, “participants went to the parking lot closest to KOK Wings where one of the females called her uncle,” according to the affidavit. She told him that she was attacked by a bunch of women.

BRPD said her uncle arrived and “sat in his vehicle until he heard someone yelling at his niece.” He then got into an argument with a man who yelled at his niece, BRPD said.

The uncle stopped arguing, and that is when he was hit by gunfire. Anderson was accused of shooting the man from behind. BRPD said Anderson left the scene in a vehicle.

The first witness said Anderson got a ride to and from the location from him. He said Anderson got back in the car with an AR-15 after the shooting.

A second witness said Anderson talked about shooting the victim at a different gathering.

A third witness said she saw Anderson shoot in the direction of the person who was hit. That witness also identified Anderson as the shooter in a photo lineup.

BRPD reviewed a video that showed the person who was hit falling to the ground after gunshots were heard, according to the affidavit.
