Baton Rouge police investigating after one dead, one hurt in shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge police are investigating after a Sunday night shooting left one person dead and another injured.

According to police, the shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. Sunday on North Harrell’s Ferry Road. Ronnie Shief, 57, was shot and killed while sitting in a car in the parking lot.

Detectives are still searching for a suspect and motive in connection with this shooting.

A second shooting victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
