Baton Rouge Police say man hurt in shooting after fight near event venue

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Police say a man was reportedly shot Wednesday night in the parking lot while walking to his car near Red Stick Social.

A spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department said a 30-year-old man was shot after a verbal fight with another man around 10:43 p.m. in the 1500 block of Government Street. Police said the shooting victim was taken to a hospital in a personal vehicle and detectives confirmed he had non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.

Red Stick Social on Government Street is a local event venue located at Electric Depot with a restaurant, bowling alley and live music stages.
