Baton Rouge police officer, two others hurt in wreck on Airline Highway
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department and two other people were hurt in a wreck shortly after midnight the morning of Monday, July 22.
BRPD said, “The officer was responding to a call when he was involved in the accident.”
He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered non-life threatening, according to BRPD.
EMS said they responded to the 6300 block of Airline Highway and transported three people to the hospital. Two of the patients were in stable condition, and one was in serious condition.
This is the most recent in a spate of local officers being hurt in recent days.
A Central Police Department officer was struck by a vehicle on Sunday, July 21. The officer was hit during a traffic stop and was not seriously hurt, CPD said.
