Update: Baton Rouge Police arrest teen wanted in connection to home invasion

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested a teen wanted in connection to a Wednesday home invasion.

According to police, Kendrick Miller, 17, was arrested Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of Bomer Drive near Greenwell Street. He will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of home invasion, false imprisonment, simple battery and aggravated assault.

Around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, detectives started to investigate a home invasion that took place in the 200 block of Maximillian St., according to BRPD.

According to BRPD, Miller is accused of forcing his way into the home and battering the homeowner, armed himself with a weapon before leaving the home on foot in an unknown direction.

During the investigation, detectives discovered that Miller had previously fled from a 19th Judicial District Court Courtroom.
