Battlestar Galactica stars reunite for "family" photo
Battlestar Galactica cast members have treated fans of the sci-fi show to a sweet reunion. Some of the 2004 series cast members posed together for a "family" portrait, posted to Instagram by actress Katee Sackhoff.
Known for playing Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, the star shared a photo in which she smiles and hugs former co-stars Jamie Bamber (Lee "Apollo" Adama), Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin) and Michael Trucco (Samuel "Longshot" Anders), as well as Trucco's wife, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation's Sandra Hess.
"Love this bunch," Sackhoff wrote in the caption, adding a red heart emoji.

"The family we choose is just as important as the family we are given," she continued. "Xoxo Maybe more."
Battlestar Galactica originally aired as a TV series in the late 1970s, spawning a franchise ranging from a series of books to video games.
A reimagined version aired as a limited series in 2003, leading to the 2004 adaptation, which consisted of weekly episodes. The latter series ran for four seasons, bowing out in 2009 and being followed by short-lived spinoff prequel series Caprica.
Ever since the series ended, there have been talks of more space adventures. First announced in early 2009, a feature film is currently in development limbo, with several directors and writers attached to the project in different phases.

In 2018, Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence spoke with Digital Spy about working with Westworld's Lisa Joy on a script that would be a reimagining, not a direct follow-up to the Battlestar Galactica series.
"Yeah we're still working on that," he said at the time. "I've been developing that for a while."
It seems that things have changed since then, as X-Men producer Simon Kinberg was announced to co-write and produce the movie with Dylan Clark in 2020. Meanwhile, Mr Robot creator Sam Esmail was attached to helm a TV reboot for Peacock. So far, we are still awaiting updates on all of these possible adaptations to come to the big or small screen.
