Fresh off her Emmy win, “The Bear” star Liza Colón-Zayas is hitting the campaign trail for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Colón-Zayas, as well as “In the Heights” star Anthony Ramos, will join Gov. Walz at a rally focusing on Latino voters on Sept. 21 in Lehigh Valley, Penn.

It was just days ago that Colón-Zayas became the first Latina to win the Emmy for best supporting actress in a comedy for her work as Tina in FX’s “The Bear.” The category also included Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”), Meryl Streep (“Only Murders in the Building”), Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”), Janelle James (“Abbott Elementary”) and Carol Burnett (“Palm Royale”).
Colón-Zayas delivered an emotional acceptance speech, ending with a push for people to head to the ballot box. “All the Latinas who are looking at me, keep believing and vote,” she said. “Vote for your rights. Thank you. Thank you. Gracias.”

Grammy-winning Ramos joined the vice president last year during her monthlong “For Our Freedoms” tour at a stop at Florida International University in Miami.
The Harris-Walz campaign announced last week that it was launching increased efforts to reach Latino voters during Hispanic Heritage Month, including spending $3 million in ads on Spanish language radio.
Meanwhile, Jane Fonda is campaigning for Harris by door-knocking in Michigan. The Oscar winner was shown in a video, which was posted on X by an account called “Kamala for Michigan” on Wednesday, hugging an Ann Arbor resident.
Fonda said, “I’ve never done it for a president, but this is most important. We have to, have to, have to get [Harris and Walz] elected.”
John Leguizamo jokes that if Kamala Harris is elected, “it’s a party” in Hollywood.
“Productions will go crazy. They’ll greenlight everything. Everything will get a sequel. If it goes the other way … it’s going to be mad depressing.” https://t.co/OwvzFOEqA5 pic.twitter.com/tU53NXXBSU— Variety (@Variety) September 15, 2024
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet, John Leguizamo predicted that if Harris wins the White House, “it’s a party [in] Hollywood.”
“Productions will go crazy,” he said. “They’ll greenlight everything. Everything will get a sequel. If it goes the other way … it’s going to be mad depressing.”
