Beaverton police vehicle hit by IED, suspect at large
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Beaverton police are investigating after an officer’s patrol vehicle was damaged by an improvised explosive device, injuring the officer early Friday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., authorities said the patrol officer was driving along 158th Avenue, responding to a reported disturbance in North Beaverton.
Fire starts after improperly disposed fireworks in Lake Oswego
The officer said they saw a flash and heard an explosion, which shattered the car’s passenger window and damaged the door. Authorities said the officer suffered from minor injuries.
Early investigation revealed an IED caused the damage. No arrests have been made and officials said the investigation is ongoing.
