Beenie Man hospitalized after collapsing at mother’s funeral: report
Beenie Man is opening a community center in honor of his late mother, Liilieth Sewell
Beenie Man is struggling with the recent passing of his mother.
A video has surfaced of the artist fainting during his mother’s funeral over the weekend per, Hot 97. The outlet reports his mother Lilieth Sewell suffered a stroke back in July and was hospitalized at the University Hospital of the West Indies.
After she was released from the hospital, her health took a turn in September and she passed away at the age of 63.

Over the weekend, a funeral was held for the star’s late mother and Beenie Man was seen fainting into the arms of men around him while at the gravesite. Beenie Man, born Anthony Moses Davis, was reportedly transferred to the hospital.
In the emotional 24 second clip, mourners are seen wailing and fanning each other as the dance hall artist is carried away.
According to DanceHall Mag, the artist’s son, Marco Dean, was also in attendance for Sewell’s homegoing in her native of St Elizabeth, Jamaica. The boy, who is reportedly 13-years-old, was accompanied by his mother, fellow dance hall artist, D’Angel.
“Y’all know a live for the cameras. But not Marco! so to get the perfect pic is always a challenge. You did it son. #motherandson #pricelessmoments,” D’Angel said in an Instagram post.

Beenie Man has been busy creating a center in mother’s name in Waterhouse. The community center will also be named after his late grandfather.
Beanie man is not stranger to giving back. His foundation The Beenie Man Foundation recently collaborated with sponsors to provide COVID-19 relief packages.
“It was a very emotional and nostalgic journey going back to the community and home that bred a spectacular man today. The love and support that was brought out today is nothing short of love and unity within the community,” he said.
