Wow Moment: We’re feeling inspired to revisit this vintage look after seeing models flaunt white-lined lids backstage at Noon by Noor’s Spring 2017 show during New York Fashion Week. Simple yet bold, the graphic eyeliner made quite a statement against the rosy cheeks, loose waves perfected by Fekkai Stylist Hos Hounkpatin, and romantic pieces in the runway collection.

#NeedItNow: NARS International lead makeup stylist Uzo drew on the slick white liner with the brand’s new Velvet Eyeliner ($24), which boasts an intense pigment and super-soft texture. “What I love about [it] is that [it’s] great for eyeshadow and great for giving you your base before you do a liquid liner — the pencil is multifunctional,” she says.

The secret to a not-so-stark look that works with all complexions? Uzo and her team of makeup artists defined the models’ creases with microfine neutral brown Kalahari and Surabaya Duo Eyeshadows ($35). “White eyeliner looks great on all skin tones — you don’t have to modify it,” says Uzo. “It’s usually the crease that locks down that liner.”

To prevent that “outer-space or cyborg look,” Uzo recommends applying black mascara, which “grounds it and brings it back to earth,” she says.
