Beyoncé to join Harris at Houston rally
Beyoncé is poised to get in “Formation” behind Vice President Harris’s White House bid — the music superstar will reportedly join the vice president at a Friday campaign rally in Texas.
The 43-year-old “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, who grew up in Houston, will appear at a campaign event there with Harris, a source familiar confirmed to NewsNation. It is not known if she will perform.
Campaign representatives for Harris did not immediately return The Hill’s request for comment.
Harris’s remarks at the Lone Star State rally are expected to focus on the consequences of abortion bans in red states following the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a senior campaign official had said.
Beyoncé’s music has played a prominent role in Harris’s presidential bid. In July, the Grammy Award winner reportedly gave permission to the Harris camp to use her 2016 song “Freedom” on the campaign trail.
In August, chatter swirled that Beyoncé would serve as a surprise performer at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, but that appearance never materialized.
In 2020, Beyoncé endorsed Joe Biden just days ahead of the presidential election with a post on Instagram.
