Vice President Kamala Harris spoke from Democratic campaign headquarters Monday, 22 July, after announcing her bid for president following Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race. The president, who was quarantining with Covid-19, called into the event, sharing a sweet moment with Harris.
“We love Joe and Jill, we really do,” Harris said from the podium. “They truly are like family to us.”
Biden’s voice interrupted Harris to say “It’s mutual.”
“I’m watching you kid, I love you,” the president added.
Biden has endorsed Harris for the Democratic presidential nominee.
