The Biden-be-gone bandwagon: These Dems have asked him to step aside
The list of politicians urging President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election is growing, joining a handful of high-profile celebrities, media personalities and donors pushing for a new name at the top of the ticket.

As of 2 p.m. EDT on Friday, 19 Democratic lawmakers, including one Democratic U.S. senator and 18 U.S. House Representatives, have publicly expressed their desire for the presumptive Democratic nominee to step aside.
The calls have increased over the last day since Biden’s highly scrutinized Thursday evening press conference, where he answered multiple questions about his age and fitness for office and insisted he would stay in the race.

Rep. Scott Peters, D-Calif.
Rep. Brittany Pettersen, D-Colo.
Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn.
Rep. Ed Case, D-Hawaii
Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill.
Rep. Eric Sorensen, D-Ill.
Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill.
Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass.
Rep. Hillary Scholten, D-Mich.
Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn.
Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J.
Rep. Pat Ryan, D-N.Y.
Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore.
Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas
Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash
Rep. Mike Levin, D-Calif.
New York Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado said in a Wednesday statement that Biden should end his campaign and make room for a new leader.
Several former lawmakers have also called for the president to step aside, including Former U.S. Senators Tom Harkin, D-Iowa and Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, and Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro.
