With Biden out of the race, what's next for the upcoming presidential debate?
With just over 100 days until the November general election and the dramatic ending of President Joe Biden's re-election bid on Sunday, what's the latest for the next scheduled presidential debate?Back in May, ABC News announced that a debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Biden would take place on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. ET.

But with Biden dropping out of the race Sunday and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, the debate schedule may not go on as planned.
In a Truth Social post on Sunday evening, Trump called for Fox News to host the debate, rather than “Fake News ABC.”
“Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, has quit the race, I think the Debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on FoxNews, rather than very biased ABC,” he wrote.
Prior to Biden exiting the race, Trump’s campaign had also publicly declined to set a date for the vice presidential debate, arguing that the uncertainty around which candidate would appear on the ticket left them unable to commit to a date.
“We don’t know who the Democratic nominee for vice president is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention,” Brian Hughes, a Trump campaign senior adviser, told USA TODAY.
