The Big Bang Theory star Kate Micucci lines up new TV show
The Big Bang Theory star Kate Micucci has lined up a new TV show with an adaptation of comic book Toy.
The actress, who played the role of Lucy on The Big Bang Theory, will star in, produce and create music for the upcoming animated series, Deadline reports.
The original comic follows an inventor called Toy (who also happens to be a toy), who has two friends – a crocodile and a human girl. Together, they defend the small town of Rockledge from evil kitty-cat CEO Lily Buttercup, who is jealous of Toy's inventing talents.

The comic, released in March last year, was created by Brett Murphy and Wilson Gandolpho, with the TV adaptation set to be showrun by The Amazing World of Gumball's Tobi Wilson.
Comics company Keenspot's CEO Chris Crosby said the team “have been fans of Kate’s acting, comedy, and music for years".
"We are so honored that her unique and hilarious voice is teaming up with brilliant showrunner Tobi Wilson to bring this project into animated reality!” Crosby added.

Last year, Micucci revealed on TikTok that she had undergone lung cancer surgery, and later updated fans that she was thankfully cancer-free.
"Great news is, thanks to surgery last week, I am cancer free and no other treatment is needed," she wrote on Instagram.
"I was very lucky to have such wonderful doctors and nurses who took great care of me. And I was very lucky to find it so early. Thank you @willreeve_ and @goodmorningamerica for getting the word out about lung cancer awareness. #lungcancer #lucky #sendinglove."
Toy is yet to confirm a release date. You can buy The Big Bang Theory complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
