Big day for clean up across Cleveland’s west side
AVON LAKE, Ohio (WJW) — It is a big day for clean-up for people across Cleveland’s west side suburbs after Tuesday’s storms tore through city after city.
There are trees down all over the streets in Rocky River and power lines pulled down, causing many roads to be closed down.

Rocky River Police are asking people to stay in place if they can. If you must travel treat intersections as a four-way stop. They’re also reminding people not to touch power lines.
Lakewood saw its fair share of damage, too. Trees fell on power lines and on cars that were parked outside.
Avon and Avon Lake got hit badly. Trees and power lines are down all over, but nothing quite as bad as the tree that fell onto a home on Cherry Lane in Avon Lake.
A fallen tree smashed down onto the home, taking the front of the house off.

Neighbors were worried when they saw the homeowner’s car in the garage but were relieved to hear he was at work at the time. He took his motorcycle to work.
There was a turtle in the home who had been rescued. No injuries were reported.
Avon Lake Police Department still has road closures up. They have been trying to keep an updated list going on their Facebook page.
They are also reminding people not to touch downed power lines. If you see one you are asked to contact the police or the fire department.
