Billie Eilish meets with Biden at the White House

Singer Billie Eilish visited the White House on Wednesday to meet with President Biden ahead of her concert in Washington, D.C.

"When I heard my friends @billieeilish and @finneas were in town for a show, I knew I had to invite them over to the White House," Biden wrote on Twitter Wednesday night with a photo of him, Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell, who is also a singer-songwriter.

"Great to see you and your family - and I'm glad you got to meet Commander," Biden added, referring to his new dog.

The White House told The Hill in a statement on Thursday that the Biden family "have been long time fans" of Eilish and Finneas' music.

Eilish, Finneas and their parents Maggie and Patrick "were invited to pay a visit to the White House yesterday to meet President Biden," according to the White House.

Eilish performed at Capital One arena in D.C. on Wednesday night.

The official noted that both siblings supported the president during the 2020 campaign.

"Billie and Finneas were supporters during Biden's campaign and the Biden family have been long time fans of their music," the White House said.

Eilish performed at the Democratic National Committee's virtual 2020 convention in August of that year, delivering her first public performance of her song "My Future."

The singer also slammed then-President Trump at the event, saying that he was "destroying our country and everything we care about."

"We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID not deny them. Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality. And that starts by voting for someone who understands how much is at stake. Someone who's building a team that shares our values. It starts with voting against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden," she added.

Eilish and Finneas' song "No Time To Die," the theme song of the James Bond film of the same name, was nominated for the Oscar for best original song on Tuesday.
