Love classic soft rock hits like “Up on The Roof,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “One Fine Day,” “You’ve Got a Friend” and many more from legendary artists Carole King, Cynthia Weil, Gerry Goffin and Barry Mann?

Then you’re going to love “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” opening at the Red Mountain Theatre tonight and running until Aug. 11.

Before she was a hit-maker and music legend, Carole King was Carole Klein, a teenage songwriter from Brooklyn. “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is the story of her journey from a high school dreamer to a trailblazer in a male-dominated profession.

“This is such an honest story,” said Valerie Accetta, the director of “Beautiful.” “It’s not watching an impersonator. It’s watching 30 years of an artist becoming an icon through all her triumphs and heartbreaks. Carole’s music touches something in us because we’ve had those same moments in our lives.”
