Madonna Shares Naked Photo As She Takes A Stand Against Instagram's Nudity Rules
The singer is questioning the social media site's photo rules.
If Instagram weren't already aware that Madonna's not one to hold back with her thoughts, they are now.
The singer has taken a stand against the site's no-nudity policy by sharing a (censored) naked photo of herself and hinting that she's pretty fed up with not being able to do a Kim Kardashian on her Instagram.
Instagram policy states: "Don’t share photos or videos that show nudity or mature content. If you wouldn’t show the photo or video you are thinking about uploading to a child, or your boss, or your parents, you probably shouldn’t share it on Instagram."
However, 56-year-old Madge is pretty fed up of the fact that she's not allowed to show her boobs on the site, captioning the above photo: "Why is it ok to show ass but not breasts?
"Drowning in the hypocrisy of social media #artforfreedom #Unapologeticb*tch #rebelheart."
If you've got it, flaunt it.
This is actually pretty big food for thought, along with the #FreeTheNipple campaign, as many have argued that it just appears to be female nudity which is banned.
Which is obviously NOT cool.
Some users were keen to praise Madonna for her wise words, with one writing: "Beautiful photo. Thank you for continuing to be a voice for equality."
Another said: "Because everyone has an ass, but females are the ones with breasts & we're supposed to be shameful of our bodies & hide them from the world."
However, others argued that there are 'far more important' issues in the world and that they didn't get why Madonna was fighting against the policy.
One such user wrote: "You don't need to show your breasts to get publicity. Empower women to use their brain and not their body to get ahead in this world.
"I am a fan Madonna but I don't see the point in fighting to expose your breasts on Instagram."
We reckon this is going to be a debate that carries on for a long time.
Of course, Madonna isn't the first celeb to fight against Instagram's rules.
Back in May last year, Scout Willis uploaded pics of herself walking down the street with no top or bra on.
She wrote: "Legal in NYC but not on @instagram."
And we think it *might* have worked, as Twitter basically imploded as the snaps went viral and her hastag #freethenipple trended.
We reckon more and more people will join Madonna, Scout Willis and others in the campaign, but we'll have to watch this space to see if Instagram ever makes a change to its policy.
