Boil water advisory for part of New Orleans East expanded to Oak Island Subdivision

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans announced that the boil water advisory issued for part of New Orleans East and the entire Oak Island Subdivision was lifted on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for part of New Orleans East and the entire Oak Island Subdivision following a water main break on Monday, Aug. 12.
Officials with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans said the advisory will impact the following areas:
Hayne Boulevard from Read Boulevard to Paris Road
Paris Road from Hayne Boulevard to the north side of Interstate 10 Service Road
North side of I-10 Service Road from Paris Road to Read Boulevard
Read Boulevard from Hayne Boulevard to the north side of I-10 Service Road

According to the SWBNO, the advisory was issued after water pressure dropped due to a main break on Hayne Boulevard and MacKenzie Street.
They said crews are working to make repairs and restore water pressure.
SWBNO officials said residents in the impacted area should boil their water or use bottled water to drink, cook, clean or brush their teeth while the advisory remains in effect.
