Boise’s Treefort Music Fest unveils over 100 acts — and this Gen-X comedy icon
Four months before Treefort Music Fest cranks up the indie-rock, organizers have unveiled the first wave of acts.
British post-punk band Dry Cleaning, rapper Channel Tres, singer Neko Case and prolific singer/multi-instrumentalist Ty Segall highlight the initial lineup, which includes more than 100 artists headed to Boise.
Actor and comedian Janeane Garofalo will be one of the most widely known performers. She’ll headline Comedyfort, one of the festival’s arts-related draws. Garofalo first rose to fame in the 1990s for roles in movies (“Reality Bites,” “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion”) and on television (“The Larry Sanders Show,” “Saturday Night Live.”)
For the second straight year, the core of Treefort will take place at its new home in Julia Davis Park. More than 20 downtown Boise venues also will host Treefort concerts and other events. (Garofalo, for example, will appear at the Egyptian Theatre. Her March 23 show is included with festival passes — first come, first served — or through individual tickets costing $35 to $55 for guaranteed entry. Those go on sale Friday.)
Founded in 2012 and now in its 12th iteration, Treefort will take place March 20-24, 2024. Advance five-day passes start at $270 for general admission, $170 for under 21 years old. Other options, including single-day and main-stage-only tickets, will become available in December.
