Britain's Got Talent fans plead 'make it stop' as act swallows six swords
Heather Holliday showed off her crazy skills in the latest auditions episode.
What did you miss?
Britain's Got Talent contender Heather Holliday boasts a skill not for the faint-hearted.
Seen auditioning during the latest episode of the ITV programme, which is now in its 17th run, the American cut an ambiguous yet stylish figure on stage before the nature of her routine was revealed. As the judging panel of Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon waited with bated breath, a sword was lowered from the rafters.
Cue some utter chaos as Heather just kept adding blade after blade to her oesophageal armoury, totalling six.
What, how and why?
Having contributed to the audible gasps that rang around the Manchester venue throughout sword-swallower Heather's performance, judge Bruno told her: "There is a class to it, the look is so sophisticated. There is like a wonderful sense of artistry that I appreciate."
Next to heap praise on the star was Alesha, who confessed that this type of act is "very difficult" for her to watch. "So I don't really wanna see you again," she quipped, "but you are beautiful, you're a superstar up there, you made sword-swallowing sexy."
"Everyone I think would say yes to this act. It was unbelievable!" declared Simon, capping off a strong reaction from the panel.
What did BGT fans have to say on social media?
Plonked inbetween young magicians and dance troupes on the BGT roster tonight (26 May), Heather's jaw-dropping sword work took social media by storm, even if many people had to watch through their fingers.
"Wtaf am I watching on #BGT Woman sticking 6 swords down her throat. That's some savage s***," shared one mind-blown viewer, while another joked: "That Heather who just swallowed six swords is going to swallow a BMW next week".
"A great act to watch if you are eating... Not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" pointed out somebody else.
This pair of BGT fans found it all a bit too rich for their stomachs, going on to share: "I hate that sword swallowing. It gave me anxiety" and "just why. make it stop".
