British YouTuber and Media Personality Yung Filly Arrested in Australia Over Rape Allegations

British YouTube star Yung Filly has been arrested and charged over rape allegations in Australia.

The internet personality, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is known for his work with the Beta Squad, a group of young YouTubers who upload comedic videos. Individually, each of them has gained their own following and Barrientos has racked up over 1.8 million followers on the site and 3.2 million on Instagram. He has also presented multiple BBC Three programs.

The 29-year-old was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday before he was extradited to attend a court hearing. On Thursday, Barrientos was charged and his bail application was approved. A video circulated on social media which users claimed showed Barrientos in handcuffs.

The charges include four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure on or to their neck.

It is reportedly alleged Barrientos brought a woman in her 20s back to his hotel room after performing at a nightclub called Bar1 in Perth on Saturday. Sept. 28. His representatives did not immediately respond to comment.

Barrientos has won a media personality of the year award in the U.K., and featured on some of the country’s most popular reality shows including ITV’s Soccer Aid and Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer.

His fanbase is predominantly young people.
