Broome County Library hosting kid’s reading event with Alyssa Crosby
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Public Library is participating in a global campaign that encourages young children to read.
The Broome County Public Library is hosting a Read for the Record event on October 24.
Jumpstart’s Read for the record is a global campaign that supports early learning by inviting millions of adults and children to take part in the world’s largest shared reading event.
During this year’s celebration, readers will present Piper Chen Sings by Phillipa Soo. The story follows a young girl who battles her nerves ahead of a musical performance. The story will be read by local musician and contestant on Season 25 of NBC’s The Voice Alyssa Crosby.
The event is suggested for children aged 2 through 5. In addition to the reading, there will also be fun and educational activities.
The event will be held at 10 a.m.
