Buffalo man admits to fatal 2022 shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Monday after the fatal shooting of a man on Glenwood Avenue in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Martinko Jamel Caver, 45, shot George McGee, III, 33, on the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue, officials said. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 5, 2022.

McGee was pronounced deceased at ECMC.

Caver pleaded guilty to the highest count against him. He faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 30 and is currently being held without bail.
