Buffalo man arraigned for fatal 2022 shooting
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 44-year-old Buffalo man was arraigned on multiple felonies for allegedly fatally shooting a victim in Buffalo’s Masten Park neighborhood, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Martinko Jamel Caver was arraigned on one count of murder in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree Thursday.
In September 2022, at approximately 2:15 a.m., officials said Caver allegedly shot the victim with an illegal weapon on the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue. The victim, 33-year-old George McGee, III, was transported to ECMC where he was pronounced deceased.
A return to court date has yet to be scheduled and Caver was held without bail. If convicted of the highest charge he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
