Buffalo man arrested in connection with weekend stabbing

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing over the weekend, police said Tuesday.

Isidoro Ortiz, 61, is accused of stabbing another man in the wrist with a large knife during an argument Saturday night on Humboldt Parkway. When police arrived, the victim, a 48-year-old Buffalo man, ran to Sisters of Charity Hospital. He was later transferred to ECMC to be treated.

A search warrant at Ortiz’s apartment allegedly turned up the weapon as well as suspected crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Ortiz is charged with the following:

  • one count, second-degree assault

  • one count, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • one count, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • one count, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
